ABOUT
Not only beautiful artwork, an experience you’ll treasure.
YOUR LOVED ONES DESERVE SOMETHING TRULY SPECIAL
My goal is to create a gifting experience that is both inspiring and enjoyable.
In fact, Micol Designs was born from my love of gifting family and friends with memorable pieces of art. (I enjoyed giving the gift as much as they enjoyed receiving it!)

Whether you’re gifting a loved one or treating yourself to a well-deserved present, our design experience will be a rewarding journey that culminates in a thoughtful masterpiece.
Where it all began
I’ve been experimenting with letters and shapes since I learned to write as a child. I designed my first ketubah while in college… and haven’t stopped.

As a self-taught artist, I am particularly drawn to the balance of positive and negative space that is the art of papercutting. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than using the skills I have developed to create art that brings joy and meaning to others.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I now live in Israel, where my home studio overlooks the beautiful and historic Judean Hills. I am an avid gardener and am inspired by the allure of the natural world around me. My kids will tell you that a simple hike in the woods or sunset picnic on the beach will turn into a pattern hunt every time!
Meaning in every detail
Each intricate Micol Designs custom papercut begins with a brainstorming session.
Together, we’ll consider ideas that express your personal vision and style. I’ll create a hand-drawn sketch, incorporating subtle, meaningful details into the design. Once you approve the final design, I delicately cut the papercut by hand from a single sheet of archival paper.
My designs are inspired by the Japanese design concept of Notan (the balance of light and dark in the world), as well as patterns in nature. My paper cutting style is constantly evolving as I craft new designs and create each client’s unique vision.
